Drivers in Birmingham are seeing some relief at the pump as average gasoline prices have fallen 17.9 cents per gallon over the last week, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 550 stations across the metro area.
The average price of gas in Birmingham now stands at $3.92 per gallon. While that’s 3.6 cents higher than a month ago, prices remain significantly above where they were a year ago, when drivers were paying an average of $2.70 per gallon.
According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas station in Birmingham was selling fuel for $3.53 per gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive station was charging $4.29 per gallon — a difference of 76 cents per gallon…
