A recent high school graduate in Alabama died in a crash this week while on the way to her college orientation, according to authorities and local news reports.

The wreck occurred on Interstate 65 in Baldwin County around 4:45 a.m. local time on Tuesday, June 2, according to a statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency shared with PEOPLE.
