BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A fish and wings restaurant in Birmingham was forced to close temporarily in late May after earning a 59 on its food inspection report, according to the Jefferson County Department of Health.
Boston Fish & Wings INC (Boston Fish Supreme) on 6th Avenue Southwest in the North Titusville neighborhood has been allowed to reopen after earning an 84 in a follow-up inspection.
Some of the most serious violations found during the initial inspection May 26 include food stored at improper temperatures, cooked food without a date mark, employees putting gloves on without washing their hands before, and roaches found under the drive thru counter.
Most of the violations were corrected when Environmental Health Specialists returned May 27 for a follow-up inspection. However, a roach was again observed, and inspectors deducted points for improperly stored food…
