1 killed, 2 injured after head-on collision in east Alabama

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – One person has died after a two-vehicle crash in east Alabama, authorities said.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on U.S. 411 in Etowah County, near Anderson Road, at 2:55 p.m. Monday, June 8. Officials said 73-year-old Ruth D. Cagle, of Leesburg, was critically injured in the crash and was taken to UAB Hospital where she died from her injuries.

Officials said the driver of the vehicle, 76-year-old Denver J. Cagle, was taken to Riverview Medical Center to treatment to injuries sustained in the crash…
