The Gorrie family has contributed $10 million to UAB to fund research and teaching efforts toward treating Alzheimer’s Disease.
In addition, the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees has approved the naming of the school’s Alzheimer’s Disease center after Frances Gorrie. The center, which offers research, education, patient care and community outreach, was established in 1991.
