Birmingham artist wins unanimous jury award at Atlanta film festival

Birmingham-based artist Véro Vanblaere is kicking off the film festival circuit with an impressive first win.

Her four-minute micro-short film, Big Little Love, took home the Jury Award at the Atlanta Microshort Film Festival this past weekend. The film was selected as the unanimous favorite among 120 films screened, and was also nominated for Best Film—one of only a handful of top honors at the festival.

The Atlanta Microshort Film Festival is part of the Atlanta Film Series and showcases films under six minutes long. According to Véro, only about 10% of submissions are accepted, with roughly 120 films selected from more than 1,200 submissions.
