Triple-digit heat scorches Alabama again today: At least one city sets new record

Most of Alabama’s cities managed to stay out of the weather record books on Tuesday, but at least one city had a record high, and another hit the triple digits again.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham reported the high temperature at its office in Calera was 98 degrees, which broke the record of 97 degrees from 2016.

Calera’s 98 degrees was 11 degrees above the average for Sept. 15…
