MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. (WBMA) — Mountain Brook leaders say they will not move forward with a request to close Round Forest Drive at the Irondale city line after a traffic study found the move was not warranted, but the city is considering several other measures in response to residents’ safety concerns.
Residents have spent months asking city leaders for help, citing concerns about trespassing, drug activity, speeding and other criminal activity near Round Forest Drive and Round Forest Circle. Some asked Mountain Brook to consider returning the road to a cul-de-sac, saying the connection with Irondale had become a cut-through.
