‘Like he fell off the face of the earth’: Birmingham family continuing search for critically missing father

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham family is continuing their search for 82-year-old Joseph Turner, who police have classified as critically missing. He has been missing for more than a week and has gone without medication he takes daily.

Turner was last seen Saturday, Sept. 26, walking outside the Greyhound bus station on Morris Avenue in Birmingham. Police said Turner suffers from dementia and is not originally from the Birmingham area.

“Nobody’s seen him since then. It’s like he fell off the face of the earth, like nothing,” said April Smith, Turner’s daughter.

Family describes final sightings

Turner is described as 5′11″ and about 152 lbs. with brown eyes and gray hair. He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, black Crocs, and a white bucket hat…
