Three dead after car apparently careens down 100-foot ravine into Alabama creek

Three people were found dead Saturday after their car apparently veered off the road and plunged approximately 100 feet down a ravine and become partially submerged in an Alabama creek.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the three victims were identified as Majhae Lalley, 35, of Boaz, Cory Shane Roper, 46, of Hayden, and Michael Adrian Russell, 36, of Warrior.

The three were discovered in the overturned car in Turkey Creek by the property owner midday Saturday. Officials are uncertain when the accident actually happened.

Investigators said they believe their car may have struck the bridge and then rolled down the ravine.

All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, Yates said.
