Double homicide investigation underway in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Birmingham Police Department is investigating a double homicide Friday evening.

The investigation is underway in the 4100 Block of 10th Avenue Wylam. According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald with BPD, detectives were led to the area regarding the disappearances of Angeliyah Webster and Christan Norris.

The couple had plans to go to the movies to celebrate Valentine’s Day. They were last seen driving a white Ford Taurus and leaving from the 1500 block of 20th Place Ensley on Wednesday.

Family members notified police when they failed to return home. Fitzgerald stated that “detective investigation tactics” led SVU to 10th Avenue Wylam just before 4 p.m. Friday, where the Taurus was discovered in a nearby alleyway.

Officers also found a young man and woman inside the victim, who appeared to be shot. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been confirmed, pending notification from the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
