Active Severe Weather Week Ahead for Alabama With Level 1 and Level 2 Storm Risks Monday Night Through Tuesday Targeting Huntsville, Florence, Birmingham and Decatur

ALABAMA — An active and complex weather pattern is building across Alabama heading into the week ahead, with two separate rounds of storms expected to impact the state beginning Monday night and continuing through Tuesday. While today remains mostly warm and dry across most of Alabama, forecasters are urging residents to stay informed as storm chances ramp up significantly over the next 48 hours.

A few showers are expected to drift into the southwest corner of the state later this morning, but temperatures will climb into the low to mid 80s statewide through the afternoon.

Monday Night Brings the First Round

The first storm threat arrives late Monday night into early Tuesday morning, with a band of showers and storms pushing into North Alabama. The SPC has defined a Level 1 Marginal Risk for areas north of a line from Fayette to Cullman to Scottsboro, which includes communities such as Florence, Huntsville, and Decatur.

The primary window for this activity runs from around midnight through 6:00 AM Tuesday. The overall severe threat during this round is not expected to be especially high due to weakening dynamics and limited instability. The main concern is strong and gusty winds accompanying the stronger cells.

Tuesday Afternoon Brings a More Significant Threat
