The Bulldogs showed fight in the opener, keeping things within reach throughout. Bethune-Cookman pushed across single runs in each of the first three innings, but AAMU stayed composed and continued to generate opportunities at the plate. In the fifth inning, Mariah Solorio delivered an RBI single to score Destiny King, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
