JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — A Birmingham man is facing drug trafficking charges after Jefferson County deputies executed a search warrant in the city’s 1100 block of Birchwood Street.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said that on Thursday, April 30, 2026, the Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the SWAT Team, Highway Safety Unit and additional personnel, carried out the warrant.
Deputies identified the suspect as 20-year-old Ke’von Lashard Atkins. He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of drug trafficking, the sheriff’s office said. Atkins is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $3,010,000 bond…
