VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (WBRC) – Several road projects are underway in Vestavia Hills, with some facing delays as crews wait for materials and paving.
Pedestrian bridge
The pedestrian bridge connecting Ward Park to the library on Highway 31 is in a holding pattern as crews wait for elevator parts to be delivered, according to Cinnamon McCulley, assistant city manager for Vestavia Hills.
“The pedestrian bridge got off to a really great start, and then we had a problem with the elevator,” McCulley said.
The city has not received a specific schedule for when the materials will arrive, but the timeline for opening the pedestrian bridge remains summer 2026…
