SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is rolling out 45 new patrol vehicles and they come with new technology designed to make your next encounter with flashing blue lights safer for everyone on the road.

The new vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art lighting systems specifically designed so they won’t blind oncoming traffic at night, a problem that has contributed to dangerous situations for drivers across the country.
“We’ve seen multiple highway studies that can be a very dangerous environment for a law enforcement officer but also uninvolved motorists as well,” said Chief Clay Hammac with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
