The Birmingham city council reversed course on tougher laws for bars and restaurants days after criticism from business owners and a social media post threatening a rare veto from Mayor Randall Woodfin.
The council Tuesday unanimously rescinded additions to its existing ordinance that established safety procedures for area night spots.
