A 65-year-old man on trial for murder has been convicted of a lesser charge in the shooting death of a locksmith during a dispute over money at a Birmingham gas station.

A Jefferson County jury on Thursday found Michael Kermit Murray guilty of provocation manslaughter in the 2023 shooting death of 36-year-old Darnell Michael Puidokes.
