Spin-outs, hidden guns, locked suitcase full of drugs ends in I-95 arrest

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A wild scene on I-95 ended Tuesday when a driver doing donuts crashed, threw a gun across the highway, and hid a drug-packed suitcase, troopers say.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say 53-year-old Orestes Diaz swerved wildly through northbound traffic near Woolbright Road, pulling “donuts” across lanes and nearly swiping several cars—including one carrying two children.

After slamming his rented 2026 Ford Maverick into the center wall, witnesses watched in shock as a frantic Diaz jumped out and began hurling items over the median into southbound lanes. Among the tossed debris was his own bumper, a purple suitcase, and a black bag holding cocaine and a loaded .327 revolver…
