The driver of a tractor trailer apparently hit the jersey barrier on the right hand side of the turnpike Around 5:30 a.m. The truck jackknifed, and now at least one lane is blocked. The driver himself sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Emergency crews are on the scene and may be on the scene for a while. It’s unclear if fuel leaked as a result of the crash causing a haz-mat situation. It’s also not immediately clear what the truck was carrying.
The Turnpike is NOT closed but expect delays until the truck is removed…
