LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Lake Worth Beach man was arrested Sunday evening after a hit-and-run crash that injured a valet driver and caused property damage downtown.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that Ruben Ismael Lopez-Ramirez, 35, is accused of striking a valet driver just before 6:45 p.m. on May 3 in the area of 602 Lucerne Ave. Investigators reported that a gray Toyota Camry struck the valet as he was holding open the door of a BMW X5, pinning him against the vehicle and damaging the door mechanism. The driver then reversed and fled the scene, authorities said.
Witnesses gave deputies a description of the vehicle and driver and provided a photograph of the Camry as it left the area. The valet driver complained of pain along his side but declined medical treatment, according to a probable cause affidavit. Damage to the BMW was estimated at about $1,500…
