BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Wildfire smoke is expected to keep air quality at unhealthy levels for sensitive groups across parts of southwest Idaho through early next week, prompting an extended air quality advisory and a ban on burning.
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality issued an orange “unhealthy for sensitive groups” air quality forecast for Saturday, August 1, 2026, through Monday, August 3, 2026, due to continued wildfire smoke impacts. An Air Quality Advisory for Ada, Adams, Canyon, Gem, Owyhee, Payette and Washington counties has been extended, and all burning is prohibited.
