BOISE, Idaho — While electric bikes and motorcycles are becoming more popular on Boise trails, only a few people and spaces are actually allowed to use them. Some organizations, like the Boise Fire Department, are using motorbikes to help with faster response times.
The fire department said Monday that its crews are allowed to use the machines, even on trails where they normally are restricted, in order to reach injured patients faster. Most trails in the system are pedestrian or pedal bike access only. The department said it is “ready when it counts.”
