Nampa family files tort claim on behalf of teen shot by police

NAMPA, Idaho — A family has filed a tort claim against the City of Nampa, alleging police officers used excessive force when they shot and injured a teen during a reported disturbance on Halloween night last year.

The claim was filed on behalf of the parents of the minor, Lugh Dreschel, and names the city, the Nampa Police Department, Police Chief Joe Huff and officers Trevor White, Thomas Callahan and Caden Line.
