BOISE, Idaho — After weeks of viral attention and an outpouring of community support, Dan Simpson, better known across the Treasure Valley as “Dan the Man”, is settling into a quieter chapter of life.
Simpson, a longtime pizza delivery driver whose small act of kindness captured national attention in March, has officially retired following a GoFundMe campaign that raised more than $170,000.
A Boise family’s Ring doorbell camera recorded Simpson buying a customer a Diet Coke with his own money after the store ran out during a delivery. The moment quickly spread online, drawing millions of views, recognition from Domino’s and widespread community support.
The donations ultimately gave Simpson the financial freedom to retire earlier than he ever expected…
