Boise County search and rescue dispatched to find 2 dirt bikers stranded in snow, ice

BOISE COUNTY, Idaho (CBS2) — Two dirt bike riders stranded in snow and ice near the Sunset lookout area east of Morris Creek summit were rescued Saturday night after Boise County Search and Rescue was dispatched to the area.

Boise County Search and Rescue was dispatched by the Boise County Sheriff’s Office at about 9:53 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026, to find and rescue the two riders. The team responded with a UTV, two dirt bikes, and two EMTs.

Two rescuers on dirt bikes headed up the mountain trail immediately, while a rescuer in the UTV worked up the trail more slowly, using a chainsaw to clear a path through fallen trees…
