Nampa Parade America honors armed forces, Hogaboam family

NAMPA — If you wanted a taste of Americana before the major summer holidays arrive, you got it if you went to the 59th annual Nampa Parade America.

From World War II-era U.S. Marine Corps Jeeps; to American flags; and so much red, white and blue, any bald eagles near the area probably soared even higher on Saturday.

While it was a windy day, it was an important one. It honored Nampa’s late Mayor Rick Hogaboam’s family and his father, Tom Hogaboam. They rode near the front of the lengthy parade with Tom, a proud U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, as the Grand Marshal…
