Trinitarios gang ‘decimated’ in Mass. as federal officials bring new charges against 26 members

BOSTON — A two-year-long federal investigation led to charges for 26 members of the notorious gang known as the Trinitarios, a transnational criminal organization linked to five murders and 19 attempted murders in Massachusetts over the past decade.

The racketeering and drug distribution charges unsealed Tuesday represent the decimation and dismantling of a gang that has “wreaked havoc and instilled fear in our communities,” U.S Attorney Leah Foley said at a press conference at the Boston federal courthouse. “That ends today.”

The individuals charged Tuesday are part of Trinitarios chapters in Lawrence, Haverhill and Boston, according to officials. The violent, criminal operation trafficked guns and drugs across state lines, from Massachusetts to Maine and New Hampshire, officials said…
