Driver in deadly North Reading crash has mental health issues, lawyer says

The driver who was allegedly speeding when he struck and killed a father and daughter stopped at a red light in North Reading, Massachusetts, Saturday night has previously been treated for mental health issues, his lawyer said.

A not guilty plea was entered in Woburn District Court Monday on behalf of 21-year-old Matthew Sweeney of Paxton. The arraignment was put on hold while Sweeney underwent a psychiatric evaluation.
