Massachusetts will get one last taste of summer Friday before cooler, fall-like air arrives for the Labor Day weekend.
Patchy fog and low clouds developed overnight across parts of Eastern Massachusetts and the Connecticut River Valley, including the Springfield area. Drivers may encounter reduced visibility early in the morning, but conditions are expected to improve by late morning. The outer Cape and Nantucket could hold onto clouds a bit longer.
Once the fog clears, Friday is shaping up to be the warmest and nicest day in the forecast. High temperatures will climb into the low to mid-80s across much of the state, including Boston and Springfield, while Western Massachusetts will stay a few degrees cooler.
