‘Unexpected passenger’ rides over 250 miles through Colorado mountains inside truck frame

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — An “unexpected passenger” hitched a nearly 5-hour ride through the mountains in the frame of a truck before the creature was discovered and coaxed out from his hiding place, according to Broomfield Police.

“This friendly marmot hitched a ride inside the frame of a truck all the way from Lake City, CO earlier this week,” the department said in a post on X. “After a couple of hours of careful work, Animal Services Officers were finally able to safely get him out using a catch pole.”
