TerHar family to be honored at final Heart of Broomfield Awards

Jack Jr. and Penny TerHar — “deeply rooted in Broomfield” — will be honored for their and their family’s legacy in Broomfield at the 25th anniversary and final Heart of Broomfield Awards.

Drivers rolling through Broomfield have seen the big letters — “Sill-TerHar” sits on the side of car dealership buildings, including those at the U.S. 36 and Colorado 121 interchange. The buildings are hard to miss, but people might not know about the TerHar family’s positive impacts on the Broomfield community.

Sill-TerHar got its start in 1960, founded by Hugo Sill and Jack TerHar Sr., when Broomfield was a small place between Denver and Boulder. Jack Jr. began working in the store more than 40 years ago, according to the Sill-TerHar Motors website…
