Boulder County officials did not find a missing man in a search of the Gross Reservoir area where he was last believed to have been, and the search effort has ended, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.
Personnel from multiple agencies searched the area near the Winiger Ridge campground and parts of Gross Reservoir for 42-year-old Andrew Lord, who was reported missing Friday. After searching the area multiple times, the Sheriff’s Office “made the difficult decision to suspend active daily search operations,” according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
Boulder Emergency Squad, Boulder Fire-Rescue and Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Marine Evidence Recovery Team used sonar and targeted dive operations to search the reservoir. Boulder County Mounted Search and Rescue, Front Range Rescue Dogs, Gross Reservoir rangers, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and a Sheriff’s Office bloodhound K9 team also helped in the search effort.
A Denver Police Department missing person case remains open, and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office will act on any new information, the release states. The CPW recovery team may return to the reservoir in coming weeks for additional water searches…
