Louisville readies for $4.8M project to replace every water meter in city

Louisville residents and businesses must have their water meters replaced with new smart meters as part of a nearly $5 million citywide effort beginning in June.

Most residential water meters in Louisville are located inside homes, and those residents will need to make appointments for technicians to enter. But some residents in Marshall Fire rebuild areas won’t need to schedule an appointment, as water meters are likely located in their front yard and technicians will not need access inside their homes, the city said in a Monday announcement.
