Wet pattern just days away

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – We begin the day with warm and humid conditions across the Suncoast, with morning temperatures in the 70s and a mix of sun and clouds. Afternoon highs will climb into the lower 90s inland, with heat index values near 100 to 102 degrees. A few afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected to develop, mainly inland, before drifting back toward the coast later in the day, very similar to the last few days.

Thursday will bring increasing humidity, more clouds, and a better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Rain will no longer be limited to the afternoon hours, although the heaviest storms are still most likely during the late afternoon and evening and inland. High temperatures will ease slightly into the upper 80s to near 90.

Friday through the weekend looks noticeably wetter as deeper tropical moisture spreads across the state. Showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread, with periods of rain possible at almost any time. The greatest coverage is expected during the afternoon and evening hours, starting inland and then covering the coast.
