Cops: Two arrested for calling 911

VENICE — A Venice-area mother and son who tried to use self-help to evict a tenant ended up in the Sarasota County Jail.

Diane Roling, 67, and Tanner Michael Virtue, 45, both of the 900 block of Nectar Road, Venice, are charged with misuse of 911 services, a misdemeanor, and resisting an officer without violence, a third-degree felony. Both are free pending trial — Roling on supervised pretrial release and Virtue on bond of $1,000.

Through the Public Defender’s Office, Roling has waived arraignment and pleaded not guilty. Virtue is scheduled for arraignment on Oct. 1…
