According to the NYPD, the latest new head of the recently implemented Patrol Borough Bronx North is NYPD Assistant Chief Anuedy Castillo. Norwood News has asked the NYPD for a biography of Castillo and will share further details as they become available.
At a street co-naming ceremony on Sept. 16, 2023, for the late NYPD Det. First Grade Jason Rivera, a rookie officer killed during a response to a domestic violence incident in Harlem on January 21, 2022, along with NYPD Det. First Grade Wilbert Mora, who also died, and Third Grade Det. Sumit Sulan, who was injured, then NYC Mayor Eric Adams said in part of Castillo, “We thank Inspector Anuedy Castillo and his team at the 34: NYDO, the DEA, PBA, the Department of Transportation and all other city organizations and agencies and individuals involved in putting this event together.”
According to the NYPD, the 34th Precinct covers the communities of Washington Heights and Inwood in Northern Manhattan, north of West 179th Street, covering two square miles, with 500 acres of parkland, including Inwood Hill Park and Fort Tyron Park.
