Bronx man charged after firing gun into air in Waterbury, police say

WATERBURY — A New York City man was arrested on Sunday after firing a gun into the air near Chase Avenue, police say.

In a release Sunday night, Waterbury police Sgt. Joseph Morais said William Pichardo, a 51-year-old from the Bronx, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, unlawful discharge of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal sale or transfer of a firearm and carrying a pistol or revolver without a permit.

Pichardo was held on a $500,000 bond and will be arraigned Monday morning, Morais said…
