As New York City rents continue escalating, apartment hunters from the metropolitan area are increasingly looking to Connecticut for rentals, with new data showing demand extending from Fairfield County to Connecticut’s “Quiet Corner.”
Whether for weekend getaway pads or permanent moves, metropolitan New York City dwellers dominated Realtor.com searches for Connecticut rentals between April and June, compared to those from other population centers as analyzed by CT Insider.
That was particularly the case for the Stamford-Danbury-Bridgeport triangle, with searches originating in the metro New York area accounting for nearly a third of all U.S. views of listings in the southwest corner of Connecticut over those three months.
