Mayor Zohran Mamdani calls for sanitation help after Knicks sweep Cavs

The New York Knicks have officially captured New York City — as redundant as that sounds. Even City Hall could not resist joining the celebration after Monday’s devastating 130-93 sweep-clinching victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Fresh off the franchise’s first NBA Finals appearance since 1999, newly elected New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani took to social media with a viral jab at the Cavs.

Tagging the official Department of Sanitation account, Mamdani jokingly wrote that he would like to “report a sweep.” It whimsically captured the swagger and joy currently pulsing through the city after New York’s historic Eastern Conference Finals domination.
