It’s been a rough week for New York City as a serious heat wave has forced people to crank up their A/C units to get any sort of relief. Unfortunately, it looks like today’s wedding between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will give them more problems, not less.
According to the New York Post, several blocks in Midtown Manhattan are being shut down today due to the wedding at Madison Square Garden. The New York City Police Department announced that multiple sections of streets are being closed starting at 1 p.m. local time with multiple cops patrolling the area against vehicular traffic:
- 7th Avenue between 30th and 34th Streets
- West 33rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues
- West 32nd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues
- West 31st Street between 6th and 7th Avenues
- West 31st Street between 7th and 8th Avenues
“The West side of 7th Avenue between 31st and 34th Streets and West 33rd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues will be closed to all pedestrian traffic, also starting at 1 p.m.,” the outlet reported.

Lastly, these areas are going to be designated with “security-controlled access”:
- East side of 8th Avenue between 30th and 34th Streets
- West 33rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues
- West 32nd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues
- West 31st Street between 6th and 7th Avenues
Going in and out of New York Penn Station is going to be a hassle too. Travelers must use the entrance to Moynihan Station on the west side of 8th Avenue at 31st and 33rd Streets or the northeast corner of 8th Avenue and 31st Street…
