Few artists can claim a career spanning more than five decades. Even fewer can say they’re still performing at such a high level. Billy Idol, however, is one of those rare exceptions.
In recent months, Idol and longtime guitarist Steve Stevens were inducted into the Guitar Center RockWalk in Hollywood, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 52nd American Music Awards, and he is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame later this year. However, Idol’s greatest testament to his enduring legacy isn’t the growing list of recent accolades. It’s the fact that he continues to create compelling new music. Last April, Idol released the critically acclaimed Dream Into It album and launched his It’s a Nice Day To… Tour Again! tour (which continues through 2026).
This summer, Billy brings that tour back to New York state with two performances. On August 14th he will hit the Darien Lake Amphitheater near Buffalo and on August 15th he will play the Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview in Syracuse. The tour not only features an array of Idol’s most well-known hits, but several new tracks as well. This includes the lead single from the Dream Into It album Still Dancing, 77, and Too Much Fun. Billy Idol could certainly tour on nostalgia alone, but the inclusion of fresh new material greatly highlights that he still has much to offer musically! Far too much to simply coast on the past.
