POLICE AUDIO CAN BE FOUND AT THE END OF THIS ARTICLE: Law enforcement received a call around 2:17pm on August 1st after reports of a medical emergency on Niagara Avenue in Niagara Falls.
The 911 caller told police that she found her neighbor attempting to hang himself but was able to get him down before he died. She then hung up and did not give any further information. It was never discovered what led up to the attempt to take his own life.
Police and emergency services responded to the scene. The male then barricaded himself in the home before police received a key from neighbors to enter the home. The male was taken for mental health treatment. No further information is available at this time…
