Taking place at Knox Farm State Park on September 26 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Paws in the Park is a dream day for four-legged friends and their humans. You get to go on a 1.5-mile walk through the park, but who’s to say if that’s really the main event?
For example, there will be vendors and food trucks aplenty, which is all we need to hear to be there. Well, that and the whole “saving animals” thing. The bomb food and cute crafts are an added bonus.
Now, the fan-favorite pet contests are JUST FOR FUN. Do NOT let them dictate how adorably you perceive your pup. Whether you compete for best trick or best costume, just remember: every breed is beautiful, even the Chinese crested. (Hairlessness is kinda chic in the dog world.)
It’s only $10 to register your dog, and you know the money is going toward the SPCA’s goal of raising $125,000. Last year they earned $101,000, but we know they’ll do even better this year. They’ll do anything for the dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, pigs, chickens, goats, cows, pigs, horses, and… Are we forgetting anyone in this barnyard roll call?…
