Cheektowaga man charged with second-degree murder in Buffalo shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Cheektowaga man was arraigned in court Thursday, accused of murder.

Angel Gonzalez-Rondon, 22, is charged with one count of Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and one count of Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree.

According to investigators, Buffalo Police officers were called to a report of a shooting on Walden Avenue near St. Louis Avenue on April 6. They found a male victim, identified as 21-year-old Jihad Gibbs with a gunshot wound. He was taken by ambulance to ECMC where he later died from his injuries…
