M&T Bank’s WNY Community Impact Week returns

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Nearly 2,000 people will be participating in M&T Bank’s Western New York Community Impact Week, which returned on Monday.

To start the week, 75 M&T Bank employees teamed up with The Teacher’s Desk, a nonprofit organization that provides free school supplies to local teachers and students. The “Pancho Packs” are named in honor of the life of Bills superfan Ezra Castro, who was also known as Pancho Billa.

“(He) passed away in 2019 from cancer, and for his funeral he said, don’t send flowers, send school supplies for children in need,” Tracy Woodrow, the chief administrative officer for M&T Bank, said. “And so from that, The Teachers Desk just had this inspiration to do what we now brand as Pancho Packs.”…
