CAPE CORAL, Florida — The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a citywide enforcement operation on May 1, 2026, specifically targeting impaired driving.
The operation, which took place from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., resulted in a total of 76 citations, according to a press release from the department. Officers conducted 74 traffic stops, issuing 22 warnings, 20 speed citations, and 50 moving citations. Additionally, there were 20 non-moving citations, five for aggressive driving, and one each for open container violations involving both a driver and a passenger.
