Crash causes multi-hour closure of US Highway 31 in Hamilton County

SHERIDAN, Ind. — A crash triggered a multi-hour closure of U.S. Highway 31 in Hamilton County on Tuesday.

The crash reportedly occurred around 3:15 p.m. and left all northbound lanes of the roadway closed just north of State Road 38 near Sheridan. At the time of the crash, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the highway would be closed for an “extended period of time” due to the three-vehicle pileup.

Photos from the scene showed a tangled crash between a pickup truck hauling a trailer and a semi tractor-trailer. The sheriff’s department said the crash involved two pickups towing trailers and a semi pulling a box trailer.
