Family of police shooting suspect calls for transparency in investigation

INDIANAPOLIS — Late Wednesday night, IMPD officers were called to a report that there was an ongoing disturbance in the area involving a male armed with a gun.

Moments later, officers allegedly encountered 21-year-old Dalys Jett, who reportedly fired shots at police. Two officers were struck by the gunfire.

Previous reports state that after Jett shot at police, at least three officers returned fire. He was struck by that gunfire and was subsequently transported from the scene to a local hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.

IMPD reported that the two officers were transported from the scene to an area hospital after the shooting — one by a patrol car and another by medics…
