INDIANAPOLIS — A woman is dead and a person of interest has been taken into custody after a shooting on the near east side, Thursday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, around 9:19 p.m., officers arrived in the area of 20 Hendricks Place on reports of a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers found a woman with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
